Pravessh Rana (born in India) is a male model and Mr. India 2008, and a reality TV show personaility. In 2009, he participated as a wild card entry in the reality TV series, Bigg Boss.[1]

Early life

He was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father worked in the police services. He completed his schooling from the renowned boy's convent school St. Mary's Academy, Meerut after which he moved to Ramjas College, Delhi University to complete B. A(Honors) in Economics .[2]

Career

Rana's penchant for mimicry has garnered work for Rana as an anchor in stage shows has done more than 450 shows in whole of India and overseas. He won the Haywards 5000 Mr. India contest at a ceremony at Hotel Intercontinental Mumbai,[3] Rana has worked for television channels like Zoom, STAR Plus, Bindass, colors as an anchor.He got into Bigboss 3 as non-celebrity participant.Pravesh has been walking the ramp for all the top designers of India like Rohit Bal, Manish Malhotra,Varun Behal, Vikram Phadnis, Rocky S, Manish Gupta etc. and has been the face of all the major fashion weeks in India like Lakme Fashion Week, Wills India fashion week, Men's Fashion week, Couture fashion Week.

Bigg Boss 3 entry

Rana was the 14th person to enter the Bigg Boss House in Big Boss 3. There was an audition held in three cities in India for the Bigg Boss and Rana won the audition in Delhi. He entered the house on the 33rd day and was runner-up. He was awarded for this performance and was given a chance to host a popular reality TV show.

Pravessh Rana has been one of the hosts on the Indian television since he came out of Bigg Boss hosting various seasons of successful shows like Emotional Atyachar season 2,3 and it is the highest rated show on all the youth based channel, He has also successfully hosted many award shows like "Screen Awards for Bollywood", "Indian television Awards", "Golden petal awards", among others.

Pravesh has done a Bollywood movie Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, which is a sequel of a very successful film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster directed by one of the most talented directors in Bollywood, Tigmanshu Dhulia.
