Powers Park, Georgia

Powers Park is an unincorporated community located east-southeast of Marietta in Cobb County, Georgia, USA.

It is defined by Interstate 75 to the west, Delk Road to the south, Terrell Mill Road to the east, Lower Roswell Road to the north and South Marietta Parkway (Georgia 120 Loop) to the northwest.

The community derives its name from the local elementary schools, Powers Ferry and Sedalia Park. Powers Creek and Powers Ferry Road run through the heart of the area and Terrell Mill Park is located within the community as well. Powers Park mostly consists of single family residential homes and small neighborhoods built between 1950 and 1980.

The community united in 2005 to fight a proposed widening of Interstate 75 that would have negatively impacted home values within the area, at which time the name Powers Park was coined. The community is popular with young homeowners, attracted by spacious, wooded lots and the area’s proximity to Interstate 75 and the bustling Cumberland / Galleria business district.
