Potęgowo [pɔtɛnˈɡɔvɔ], German: Pottangow, is a village in Słupsk County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Potęgowo.[1] It lies approximately 30 kilometres (19 mi) east of Słupsk and 76 km (47 mi) west of the regional capital Gdańsk.

The area had been part of the Holy Roman Empire (Duchy of Pomerania) since the 12th century, from 1648 to 1945 part of Prussia and Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania.
