"Postcards From Paradise" is a song written by Ringo Starr and Todd Rundgren, released as the lead single from Starr's 2015 eponymous Postcards From Paradise album. At 5 minutes and 18 seconds, it is one of Starr's longest singles, and the longest track on Postcards from Paradise.
Background and release
Starr recorded "Postcards from Paradise" during breaks between tours in 2014. Todd Rundgren, a prolific musician and producer and a member of Starr's All-Starr Band, collaborated with Starr both on the writing and recording of the song.[1]
The song is notable for its significantly different sound than many of Starr's other songs. The song features a multitude of references to song titles of both the Beatles and Starr solo material in every verse.
A lyric video for the song was released via Yahoo.com on March 3rd, 2015. [2] The song was subsequently released on iTunes and Amazon.com.
