Portugal is scheduled to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016.
Sailing

Portugal has qualified one boat for each of the following events upon receiving a quota place from the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships:
- Men's one-person dinghy – Laser (Rui Silveira)[1]
- Men's skiff – 49er (Jorge Lima & José Costa)[2]
Swimming

Portuguese swimmers have so far achieved qualifying standards in the following events (up to a maximum of 2 swimmers in each event at the Olympic Qualifying Time (OQT), and potentially 1 at the Olympic Selection Time (OST)):[3][4]
