Popular Area (Italian: Area Popolare, AP) is the name of two centre-right and mainly Christian-democratic parliamentary groups active in each house of the Italian Parliament: the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
The groups, launched in December 2014, originally included 34 deputies and 36 senators, comprising the New Centre-Right (NCD), the Union of the Centre (UdC) and some dissidents from other parties,[1][2] mainly splinters from Civic Choice (SC) plus a former member of the Five Star Movement (M5S).[3][4] Most of the former SC members, along with the deputies and the senators of the UdC, were previously part of the For Italy groups.
