Poor Fellow My Country is a Miles Franklin Award winning novel by Australian author Xavier Herbert. It is the longest Australian work of fiction ever written.[1] Primarily, it is the story of Jeremy Delacy and his illegitimate grandson Prindy in the years leading up to World War II. It covers matter on Aboriginal affairs, Australian patriotism and nationalism; subjects also dealt with in Herbert's 1938 novel Capricornia.
