Pomona railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the town of Pomona.

History

Pomona railway station opened in 1891 with the opening of the line from Cooran to Cooroy.[1]

The station today consists of one platform with a steel shelter. In 2009, the platform was extended with scaffolding and plywood materials.[2] Initially intended as an interim arrangement until a permanent extension was built, the temporary platform remains.[3] Opposite the platform lies a passing loop.

The temporary platform was washed away, and had to be rebuilt, following flooding in 2012. The temporary platform remains in a flood-prone location while planning is stalled. Queensland Rail is proposing to close an existing cross-town pedestrian crossing over the North Coast Line linking to the station, forcing pedestrians to make a 400m detour.

Services

Pomona is serviced by two daily Citytrain services in each direction.[4]
