Polygamy in Bhutan
The practice of polygamy is legal in Bhutan regarding the consent of future wives,[1] but there is no legal recognition granted to polygamous spouses under civil law or customary law.
Both polygamy and polyandry are very prevalent in the country,[2] particularly in the south, where it is the most accepted.[3]
