Polyalthia coffeoides is a species of plant in the Annonaceae family. It is found in Asian countries.
Leaves
ovate to narrowly ovate, truncate to obtuse base, tapering to attenuate apex, lateral veins about 10-14 pairs, margins undulate.
Trunk
branchlets minutely densely puberulous.
Flowers
light-green, solitary or a few from axillary peduncle.
Fruit
dark purple, ovoid, bluntly pointed, smooth, shining fruitlets.
Ecology
intermediate and monsoon forest understory.
Uses
fruit - edible for langurs and other fruit bats.
Culture
Known as "ඕමාර - omara" in Sinhala Language.
