Politics.ie is an Irish internet discussion forum. It was founded by David Cochrane. The site is now owned by Pie Media Ltd. David Cochrane resigned as director in August 2012.
The site's membership is diverse and includes a number of activists across the political spectrum, students, politicians, journalists and other people involved in the media. While most contributors are anonymous, a large number of prominent individuals, including former Green Party senator Dan Boyle and former Progressive Democrats (now head of Amnesty International in Ireland) senator Colm O'Gorman, have confirmed their identities as contributors to the site.
Legal action
Michael Daly took legal action against David Cochrane in a case involving libel.[1] An injunction was granted, and David Cochrane acknowledged the inaccuracy of the content posted on Politics.ie.
