A Polish Nicaraguan is a Nicaraguan descendant of Poles. Some Poles were natural or pure and others were mixtures of Jews, Germans, Russians and others.

History

In the mid-nineteenth century, a number of central Europeans, Germans, and English people, Poles, French people and Italians immigrated to Nicaragua, especially to Leon and Granada. Even after several immigrants moved to Matagalpa, and the Germans and English came to dominate immigration to the construction of coffee fincas.[1]

The arrival of Poles in Nicaragua does not have much history, But some of them mixed with Nicaraguan women and had families who make direct descendants, which frame many children and people with Polish appearance, especially in León. Surnames such as Podolski, Lewites, Kozlowski, Jakov, Woźniak, Dąbrowski and others can still be found in the country.
