The non-profit, non-commercial station began broadcasting on a full-time basis on 27 March 2010 from studios and offices at East Parade in Rhyl and later moved to a temporary base at Ffrith Beach in Prestatyn. The station is now based at purpose-built studios in Wellington Road near Rhyl town centre.

Point FM's schedule largely consists of music and talk programming alongside national news bulletins, local features, interviews & information, sports coverage and specialist output in the evenings and at weekends, including a weekly programme for the Filipino community on Sunday mornings. Live coverage of local events is regularly featured with an automated music output during non-programming hours. Apart from national news produced by Sky News Radio, the bulk of the station's output is produced and presented from its studios in Rhyl.
