Piano works (Bruckner)

Anton Bruckner composed 25 small piano works, the earliest in 1850, the last in 1868. Most of the works were composed for his piano pupils during his stay in St. Florian (1845-1855) and in Linz (1855-1868).[1]

Sixteen other piano works composed in 1862 during Kitzler's tuition, which were found in the Kitzler-Studienbuch, are not yet issued:[11]

Abendklänge

Abenklänge (Evening harmonies), WAB 110, is a 36-bar long piece for violin and piano in E minor, which Bruckner composed on 7 June 1866. Bruckner dedicated it to Hugo von Grienberger. Of the 36 bars only 14 are played by the violin.[14][15]

The original manuscript is stored in the archive of the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek. A facsimile of it was first published in Band I, pp. 104-105 of the of the Göllerich/Auer biography.[16][17] The work is issued in Gesamtausgabe, Band XII/7.[14]
