The Philippine Volleyball Federation (formerly the Philippine Amateur Volleyball Association) is the national governing body for volleyball in the Philippines.
PVF was formerly recognized by the POC and the AVC, until the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, was replaced PVF, while they claimed it is also have a recognition and attestation with the FIVB on the General Assembly.
2014 Leadership crisis
The leadership disputed arouse when the federation's elected vice president assumed the position of the federation's president Gener Dungo after Dungo, who was accused of mismanaging funds of the sporting body, filed an indefinite leave of absence.[1]
However, weeks after a delgation for the 2015 SEA Games has been formed, Dungo and his supporters held a special board meeting and claimed that he has the majority and backing of duly elected members of the PVF Board of Directors.[1]
Philippine Olympic Committee Vice President Joey Romasanta, said that the olympic body can't recognize the newly formed squad before the leadership dispute between Chan and Dungo is settled. Romansata accused Dungo and general secretary general Otie Camangian of misleading the national team players that they have the authority to organize the national volleyball teams and asserts that the two are not the federation itself and says that they have to consult the other members of the federation first. Romansata also called for the resolution of the dispute through talks between the two parties.[1]
