Philippine Science High School Ilocos Region Campus

Philippine Science High School - Ilocos Region Campus (PSHS-IRC) is a campus of the Philippine Science High School System, a specialized public high school in the Philippines, and under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). PSHS-IRC was established in 2003 through the initiative of former Ilocos Sur 1st district Cong. Salacnib Baterina.

Philippine Science High School - Ilocos Region Campus is located at Brgy. Poblacion East, San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur. It stands on a 5-hectare campus donated by the local government of San Ildefonso.

History

Congressman Salacnib Baterina initiated the establishment of the campus in 1999 through Republic Act No. 9036 (An act strengthening the governance and defining the scope of the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System).

After the PSHS System Board of Trustees approved its establishment via a resolution in February 2002, the local government of San Ildefonso in Ilocos Sur, donated a 5-hectare land for the construction of the school.

The school first opened with its 33 students from the different parts of Region 1 and six teachers on July 14, 2003.

As of April 10, 2015, 459 students graduated from the school.
