Philippe Montanier (born 15 November 1964) is French former footballer and football manager, who is the current manager of Rennes.

Career

Montanier played as a goalkeeper for Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 sides, including Caen, Nantes, Toulouse, Gueugnon and Saint-Étienne.

Coaching career

He managed US Boulogne from 2004 and was named Ligue 2 best manager in 2009.[1] After achieving promotion to Ligue 1, he left Boulogne for Valenciennes FC.[2]

Montanier was offered job as Spanish La Liga club Real Sociedad manager. He signed a two-year contract with the club on 4 June 2011.[3]

On 21 May 2013 it was announced that he would not extend his contract at Real Sociedad, and join Stade Rennais at the end of the season.[4]
