Philip Sayer (26 October 1946 – 19 September 1989) was a British actor.[1] He worked for stage, film and television; and was probably best known for his role as Sam Phillips in the science-fiction horror film, Xtro (1983).

Biography

Philip Sayer was born on 26 October 1946 in Swansea, the son of Thomas Henry and Myra Sayer.

He became an actor best known for being in the cult British film Xtro (1983).

He died of cancer in 1989, aged 42.[1] After Sayers's death and attending the funeral service Brian May wrote the song "Just One Life" as a tribute.[1] [2] A Philip Sayer Scholarship fund was set up at LAMDA in Sayer's memory. Sayer Clinics are named after and in memory of Philip Sayer. [3]
