Philip Coggan

Philip Coggan is a British columnist and author of books on economics. He currently writes for The Economist.[1] Previously, he worked for the Financial Times for 20 years.[1] In 2008, he was named Senior Financial Journalist of the Year by the Wincott Foundation[2] and in 2009 he was voted Best Communicator at the Business Journalist of the Year Awards.[3] Among his books are The Money Machine: How the City Works (1986), The Economist Guide to Hedge Funds (2005), Paper Promises: Money, Debt and the New World Order (2011), named Spears' Business Book of the Year, and The Last Vote: the Threats to Western Democracy (2013).[1] He was educated at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.[4]
