Phillip Thiel (born October 29, 1984) is an American rugby union player who currently plays for Life University Men's Senior Rugby Club in the American Rugby Premiership as a hooker and prop. He was selected to tour with the United States national rugby union team, the Eagles, for the Autumn 2010 tour of Europe and most recently for the 2015 Rugby World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and the Eagles' 2014 End of Year Tour of Europe. His debut with the Eagles was in November 2009 against Uruguay. He has 25 caps for the USA, including 3 in the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

After taking nearly 18 months off, Thiel returned to play for Life University for the 2013 Division 1 and Elite Cup Series[1] and was selected to represent Life University rugby at the Rugby Showdown against the Golden Lions as a member of the North American All-Stars before the event was canceled.[2] Thiel co-captained the USA Eagles Select team at the 2013 Americas Rugby Championship [3] where the Eagles finished second.[4] In August 2014 Thiel signed a short-term deal with Saracens.[5]
