Pettai is an industrial area in Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located approximately seven kilometers west of downtown Tirunelveli along the Southern Railway line to Tenkasi.[1] Pettai is very famous for its big mosque which is known as Muhammad Nainar Pallivasal. It has a very diverse population. It is also famous for Parotta Stalls. One of the famous one being Mubarak Parotta stall. The city is also famous for the rotti kadai bus top. It is also famous for Vandi stand vegetarian restaurant. It has a general hospital, two post offices and other notable places. The co-operative mills were also here. One industrial training institute, the M.D.T. Hindu College, is there.
Demographics
At the 2001 census, Pettai had 1,060 inhabitants, with 534 males and 526 females.[2][3]
