Peter Odhiambo Opiyo (born 1st August 1992 in Bondo) is a Kenyan footballer who is currently playing for Finnish Veikkausliiga club FF Jaro. He previously played for Kenyan Premier League clubs Tusker, Thika United and A.F.C. Leopards, and had loan spells at Gor Mahia and Indian side Viva Kerala.
Club career
Opiyo began his youth career with Tusker FC and signed in January 2008 for Thika United. After only one year with Thika United, moved in February 2009 for Gor Mahia on loan, and his loan spell with Gor Mahia was set to continue through 2010.
In 2011 the then 18 year old returned to Thika United to finish up his remaining one year contract. The second spell at Thika United saw him help the club finish 3rd in the Kenya premier league.
After his contract ended with the Thika based side, he opted to join Tusker FC in 2012 helping the Ruaraka based side to clinch the Kenyan premier league title, before being snatched away by AFC Leopards in 2013. He helped Leopards win the league cup title and finished second in the Kenyan premier league
On 11 March 2014, the 21 year old completed a move to Finnish top-tier side FF Jaro in a two-year deal.[1] He made his debut for the club in their fourth-round 2014 Finnish Cup match against FC Hämeenlinna on 15 March,[2] but could not help prevent the club from a 2–1 and an early exit from the tournament.
International career
He is a current member of the Harambee Stars.[3] He was also part of the squad that won the 2013 CECAFA Cup on home soil.
