Perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA) is an organic compound used commercially as a precursor to pigments and dyes. It is generated by oxidative fusion of naphthalene dicarboxylic anhydride via naphthalimide. PTCDA reacts with amines to give a range of useful colorants.[1][2]
