A Peruvian Australian is an Australian citizen of Peruvian descent or a Peru-born person who resides in Australia.

Most of Peruvian Australians reside in the state of New South Wales.[1]

History

The first official record we have of Peruvians in Australia is the census conducted in 1901 when 28 Peruvians were recorded.

Immigration from Peru remained small until the late 1960s when the numbers started to increase slowly.

Since 1986, there has been regular migration from Peru and migration has numbered a few hundred every year in the 2000s.
