Pernica is a village in the Municipality of Pesnica in northeastern Slovenia. It lies in the traditional region of Lower Styria. The municipality is now included in the Drava statistical region.[2]

The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Margaret and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maribor. It was first mentioned in written documents dating to 1361. It was destroyed in 1532 and rebuilt in 1567.[3]

Pernica was also a 3D virtual world http://www.starfireresearch.com/pernica/pernica.html which was open to public usage from 2001 to 2011. Pernica was unique in being targeted at actual roleplay, with players involved in creating and developing the world. There were no "canned quests", adventures were dreamed up by the players and the game masters and run live.
