Periyanaickenpalayam is a neighborhood in Coimbatore in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located along National Highway NH 67, Mettupalayam road, an arterial road in Coimbatore city. Neighboring places are Narasimhanaickenpalayam, Jothipuram(Anna University), Karamadai.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Periyanaickenpalayam had a population of 22,921. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Periyanaickenpalayam has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 84%, and female literacy is 73%. In Periyanaickenpalayam, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age. Coimbatore's Pride company "Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd " is located in Periyanaickenpalayam. It's now becoming a hub for small scale lathe industries. Automobile speedometer manufacturer "PRICOL" is also located here. In recent years the standard of living and lifestyle of the people have improved a great deal.

It is located near the foot hills of Palamalai. Educational Institute Sri Ramakrishna Vidhyalaya, starting from Pre-KG to PG college courses and 7000 students studying in the institution, and is always a Shrine for this place.
