Peniki-Veru is a village of Alamuru mandal in East Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]
History
Previously, it was called "PENIKIVERU", which is a formation of "PENIKI" (meaning a Herbal Tree that is used as medicine for the mentally disordered). "VERU" (means "root"). It has a 300-year history of curing mentally disordered people and ancient VENUGOPALA SWAMY TEMPLE, Sivalayam and Poleramma Temples.
