Peni Terepo (born 21 November 1991) is a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer for the Parramatta Eels of the National Rugby League. Terepo primarily plays prop, second-row and lock. Terepo is of Cook Islands and Tongan descent.
Background
Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Terepo played his junior football for the Mangere East Hawks before being signed by the Parramatta Eels. Terepo played for the Eels NYC team from 2009 and 2011.[1] On 19 August 2011, Terepo re-signed with the Eels on a 2-year contract.[2] At the end of 2011, Terepo won the Eels NYC Player's Player award.
Parramatta Eels 2013-
2013
In Round 8 of the 2013 NRL season, Terepo made his NRL debut for the Parramatta Eels against the North Queensland Cowboys at Lock in the Eels 14-10 loss at Parramatta Stadium.[3] In Round 10 against the St George Illawarra Dragons, Terepo scored his first and second try NRL career tries in the Eels 32-12 loss at WIN Stadium.[4] On 5 July 2013, Terepo extended his contract with the Eels for a further 2 years till the end of the 2015 season.[5] Terepo finished his debut year in the NRL with him playing in 17 matches and scoring 4 tries (16p) for the Parramatta Eels in the 2013 NRL season. Terepo was included in the Tonga National Rugby League Team squad in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, playing in 1 match and scoring a try (4p) against Italy in the 16-0 win at The Shay.[6]
2014
In February 2014, Terepo was selected in the Eels inaugural 2014 Auckland Nines squad.[7] Terepo finished off the 2014 NRL season with him playing in 21 matches and scoring 1 try (4p) for the Eels.
2015
In 26 January 2015, Terepo was named in the Eels 2015 NRL Auckland Nines squad.[8]
