Peleas de Abajo is a municipality located in the province of Zamora, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 268 inhabitants.
Reportedly, the town has run into a terminal financial situation with an unbearable debt of 5.6 million dollars to banks and the central government, and so most local property has already been either 'confiscated or sold through auctioning' (August 2012). [1]
