Peggy Miley (born July 5, 1941)[1] is an American actress and writer. She has played supporting roles in films like Alice, The Little Princess, Bandits, The Back-up Plan, and Primary Colors. She is also known for her work in commercials, including a popular Christmas television ad for Cheerios in which she played the grandmother.[2]
Personal life
Born Margaret Ann Miley in Astoria, Queens, she had a sister Helen (1944-2009).[3] She graduated from St. Jean Baptiste High School in 1959 where she was involved with theatre, and from St. John's University with a degree in Literature in 1963. In 1975 she completed a Masters in Humanities at NYU.[4] She began her career as a teacher, later deciding in the 1970s to try a professional career as an actress. She moved to Los Angeles and began working in soap operas. She resides in Burbank, California and New York City.
Television
Miley has guest starred on several television series including Boy Meets World, NYPD Blue, Big Love, Monk, and Six Feet Under.[5] She played a supporting role in the 1998 award-winning television movie Winchell.
