Peebles High School (Peeblesshire)

Peebles High School is a state comprehensive school for girls and boys aged 12–18, located in Peebles in the Scottish Borders. It came into existence as Bonnington Park Academy in 1858. Since then, it has expanded and now has approximately 1500 pupils. its only meant to hold 1200 pupils it's basically exploding with pupils.

In 2000 a new section was completed which was called The Millennium Wing. This expansion meant a great increase in size and capacity including a Learning Resource Centre and entire business suite. A new sports centre was completely in 2014.

Curriculum

The curriculum at Peebles High School is wide and enriching for students. Ranging from the traditional subjects such as Mathematics and English to newer subjects such as Business Management or Child Care.

Sports

Peebles High School are notable for producing professional sports stars, most recently 1500m World Championship Finalist Chris O'Hare. Rugby and Hockey are high on the sports' agenda at the school, however, there is a greater wealth of talent in their ranks who are netballers, mountainbikers, swimmers, track and cross country runners.
