Pedro Manuel Martins Araújo (born 10 January 1985) commonly known as Pedro Araújo is a Portuguese professional footballer playing for Tondela in the Segunda Liga as a left back.
Club career
Born in Barcelos, Araújo joined the youth academy of local club Famalicão, before being spotted and signed by Sporting CP in 1996. Between 2003 and 2004, he played for the B team, making only 7 appearances in the process. After being released by the club, though he played one season in the Primeira Liga for Penafiel, he mainly played in Segunda Liga for various clubs.
In 2012, he signed for Tondela and was given 55 number jersey.[1] He scored his first goal for the club in a 3–1 defeat against Arouca.[2]
International career
Araújo collected a total of 34 caps for the junior team scoring in 3. Playing for Portugal U20, he scored a goal against Russia U20.[3]
