Rivalries Payson Seymour High has many intense rivalries. The series with Quincy Notre Dame was a victim of IHSA class changes. However last year was revived last year. The Indians snapped a long losing streak against the Raiders with a 40 point blow out at home. The series with the Unity Mustangs has also become very volatile over recent years. Several clashes in tournament finals and post season meetings has brought the rivalry to a fever pitch. The Indians biggest rival is still the Liberty eagles. These long standing rivals meet annually every year for each others homecoming. They have also met in multiple in season tournaments every year. For the past three years these two have also met in the regional championship.
