Geography

Paynesville is located at 38°37′16″N 85°29′36″W / 38.62111°N 85.49333°W.

History

Paynesville was named in honor of Miller Payne, a pioneer.[3]

Paynesville was hit by a tornado on March 2, 2012, and one person died.[4] Three fatalities occurred about a mile away in Chelsea.[4]
