Pauli Pauli (born 4 August 1994) is a Samoan Australian professional rugby league footballer for the Parramatta Eels of the National Rugby League. He primarily plays prop and second-row.

Playing career

Born in Bankstown, New South Wales, Pauli attended school at Chifley College and Patrician Brothers Blacktown whilst playing his junior football for the Hills District Bulls before being signed by the Parramatta Eels. He played for the Eels' NYC team from 2012 to 2014.[1] In 2012, Pauli played for the New South Wales Under 18s team.[2] In July 2013, Pauli re-signed with the Eels on a 2-year contract.[3]

Parramatta Eels 2014-

2014

In 14 February 2014, Pauli was selected in the Eels inaugural 2014 NRL Auckland Nines squad.[4] In Round 4 of the 2014 NRL season, Pauli made his NRL debut for the Eels against the Penrith Panthers playing off the interchange bench in the Eels 32-16 win at Parramatta Stadium.[5][6] In Round 8 match against the North Queensland Cowboys at 1300SMILES Stadium, Pauli scored his first NRL career try in the Eels 42-14 loss.[7] On 3 May 2014, Pauli played for the New South Wales Under 20s team, playing at prop in the Blues 30-8 win at Penrith Stadium.[8][9] Pauli finished off his debut year in the NRL with him playing in 17 matches and scoring 3 tries (12p) for the Eels in the 2014 NRL season. On 8 September 2014, Pauli was named in the Samoa train-on squad for the 2014 Four Nations, [10] but did not make the final 24 man squad.
