Paul Rosenthal is an American community activist, teacher and politician who was elected on November 6, 2012 to serve in the Colorado House of Representatives for House District 9. He overcame Republican challenger Celeste Gamache.
Rosenthal is openly gay. Upon taking office, he will sit alongside other openly LGBT politicians,[1] including incoming House Speaker Mark Ferrandino (D - HD 2), Reps. Dominick Moreno (D - HD 32), Joann Ginal (D - HD 52) and Sue Schafer (D - HD 24), as well as senators Pat Steadman (D - SD 31), Lucía Guzmán (D - SD 34) and Jessie Ulibarri (D - SD 21).[2]
