Paul Drane

Paul "Ace" Drane is an Australian television director. He is best known as the original studio director of the Australian TV pop show Countdown from 1974 to 1976. During this period, he directed several music videos (promotional film clips) made especially for Countdown, including the original clips for the AC/DC hits "It's a Long Way to the Top" and "Jailbreak".[1][2][3]

In 1989, Drane produced a documentary special titled Nostradamus: The Final Chapter? for the Australian channel 7 television network. This was a follow up to a previous documentary special he produced on Nostradamus in the late 1970s. In this 1989 production, Drane and his team make some frightening interpretations of some of Nostradamus' quatrains about the rise of fundamentalist Islam which would ultimately result in a disastrous global military conflict that brings about numerous natural and ecological tragedies and plagues upon the earth. This documentary appears to be unavailable in any video media format.

Drane has been director of RockWiz for SBS One since its inception in 2005.
