It is a daily service covering the distance of 1821 km in 31 hours 45 mins as 12925 Paschim Express averaging 57.35 km/hr & 30 hours 35 mins as 12926 Paschim Express averaging 59.54 km/hr. The average speed of the total run (Bandra TerminusAmritsar & back) is 58.43 km/hr.

Traction

Earlier Dual traction WCAM 1 or WCAM 2/2P locos would haul the train between Bandra Terminus & Vadodara after which a Ghaziabad based WAP 1 would take over for the remainder on the journey.

Since Western Railways completed DC Electric Conversion to AC on 5 February 2012, it is now regularly hauled by a Ghaziabad based WAP 7 locomotive for its entire journey.
