Partido (Philippines)

Proposed new province of Nueva Camarines would be created in the Partido area.

The Partido is a region in Camarines Sur, a province of the Philippines formerly known as the Partido de Ibalon. Spanish colonizers divided the area of the now-province of Camarines Sur into two distinct areas, a northern and southern part. The southern part is now called "Partido".

The northern, upper portion included the present day Camalig town in Albay, and all towns of Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte, and was called “Partido de Camarines”.[1] The southern portion comprised the area south of the present town of Camalig (in Albay), Sorsogon, the islands of Masbate and Catanduanes, and was called “Partido de Ibalon” which became in time simply "Partido".[1]

The Partido State University is located in this area.

The proposed province of Nueva Camarines would be in this area, if created.
