Parkview School District currently operates 2 grade schools. They are Parkview Elementary School and Parkview Primary School. Parkview Elementary School is the biggest, and houses the district's 3-6th graders. Parkview Primary School educates the district's Pre-K through 2nd graders. All PPS kids go to PES for 3rd through 6th grades. All kids in the two schools go to Parkview Jr./Sr. High School for middle school and high school.
Consolidation
Through 2012, Parkview operated three elementary schools. However, at a time when budgets were being cut, the school board had to close an elementary school. The first plan was to close both Footville and Newark Elementary Schools and add modular classrooms at Orfordville. However, the plan was disputed and eventually changed. Newark Elementary was closed at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. Footville was to be closed later. The names of Orfordville and Footville Elementary Schools were changed to Parkview Elementary and Parkview Primary, respectively. In 2013, the school board drew up plans for a $17 million referendum creating a new high school and moving all elementary kids to the old high school. After a huge effort to pass the referendum, it passed by 26 votes on April 1, 2014. Currently, the new schools are expected to open for the 2015-2016 school year. At that time, Parkview Primary School will close.[15]
