Pargi is the oldest mandal in Rangareddy district of Telangana, India, since the Nizams Period. It falls under Telangana state. The population is 32501 (2006 census). Pargi is one of the biggest city in Ranga Reddy district. Pargi is the Mandal Headquarters and is also a Constituency.

Geography

Pargi is located at 17°11′00″N 77°53′00″E / 17.1833°N 77.8833°E.[1] It has an average elevation of about 526 meters. It is located 67 kilometers from Hyderabad. It doesn't have good water resources and dependent completely on ground water. People do farming mainly on ground water. The soil is black which is good for agriculture and the major crops are Cotton, Maize, Jowar. There are many mango groves in and around the Headquarters. Milk production is also a major source of income here. There are four Milk Chilling Centres in Pargi, Mother Dairy, Reliance, Tirumala and Jersey.

Pargi is 80 km from Mehdipatnam. It can also be approached from Shadnagar which is 40 km away, and Shadnagar connects PArgi, Vikarabad to the National Highway. Kashmir - Kanya Kumari Highway. There are many places which can be approached from Hyderabad via Pargi. Yadgir, Sedam,Gurmitkal,Gulbarga, Bijapur can be approached from Pargi.
