Paradiso sul mare

Paradiso sul mare (Paradise on the sea), Anzio, Italy, is an Art nouveau palace built by the italian architect, Cesare Bazzani.

History

Completed in 1924, the palace is located on the promenade of the Anzio city where, in 1944, the allied forces landed during World War II (Battle of Anzio).

Paradiso sul mare is today owned by the municipality of Anzio.

The beautiful rooms of the Paradiso sul mare initially were destinated to houses the casino of the city, but, the casino, was never opened.

Today, the palace, is houses art exhibitions and as movie sets. Italian famous film directors and scriptwriters, as Federico Fellini and Alberto Sordi, have shooted in it films as Amarcord and Polvere di stelle (Stardust).
