Pappu Yadav

Rajesh Ranjan (24 December 1967), better known as Pappu Yadav Popular name "Netajee", is an Indian politician from Rashtriya Janata Dal.[1][2] He won elections to the Lok Sabha (the lower house of the Parliament of India) in 1991, 1996, 1999, and in 2004 from several constituencies in Bihar as an Independent / SP / LJP / RJD candidate. Pappu Yadav become 'best performing' MPs in 2015[3]

In February 2008, he was convicted in the murder of Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) legislator Ajit Sarkar and sentenced to life imprisonment. Subsequently he was debarred from the 2009 general election.Mr. Yadav’s is believed to be affiliated to the Congress. Pappu Yadav defeated Sharad Yadav in 2014 general elections.[4] His wife Ranjeet Ranjan, an MP from Supaul, is a Congress leader.[5]

Life

Pappu Yadav was born on 24 December 1967 in a Landlord family in Khurda Karveli village, Purniea district, Bihar. His starting school education in Anand Marg School, Anand Palli, Supoul. He completed graduation in Poltical Science from B N Mandal University, Madhepura. He did Diploma in Diaster Management and Human Rights from IGNOU. Ranjesh Ranjan is official name but Pappu nickname name given by his Grand Father in childhood. He married with Ranjeet Ranjan.[6] He is a known as Netajee in Koshi Area, Bihar. He is voice of poor people in Koshi area. He is the charismatic personality of politics in Bihar after Lalu prasad yadav. He is Member of Parliament from Madhepura, which is the popular place of Gope (yadav). One phrase is popular for Madhepura - "Rome Pop ka Madhepura Gope (Yadav) Ka".

He was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from Singheshwarsthan, Madhepura in 1990 as an independent candidate, and in 1991 he contested and won through to the 10th Lok Sabha from Purnia. He was at various times a member of RJD, the Samajwadi Party and the Lok Janshakti Party.
