Panic Room is a Welsh band founded by former Karnataka members Jonathan Edwards, Gavin Griffiths, Paul Davies, and Anne-Marie Helder, along with bassist Alun Vaughan, in 2007.

History

They released their debut album Visionary Position in early 2008. In August 2009, it was announced that pre-orders were being taken for their upcoming second studio album Satellite. A UK tour was done in September, October and November 2009 supporting the upcoming release of Satellite. The pre-release version was released in December 2009 with the retail copy released in early 2010. On July 28, 2010 it was announced on the band's website that founding bass player Alun Vaughan had left the band and had been replaced by Yatim Halimi.[1]

On March 4th, 2013, Panic room revealed that Paul Davies was leaving the band for personal reasons.[2] Touring commitments were fulfilled with Morpheus Rising guitarist Pete Harwood filling the void left by Davies, with local Swansea musician, Adam O'Sullivan brought in to play guitar for the recording of the band's fourth album, entitled "Incarnate".[3] Following the 'Incarnate' tour dates, which featured O'Sullivan as a member of the live line-up, the band began working with Mr So&SO / Steve Rothery Band guitarist, Dave Foster in early 2015 on material for a new acoustic album.

Other work

Gavin Griffiths performs with former Marillion vocalist Fish, whilst Yatim Halimi performs with Fish's former band mate Steve Rothery in the Steve Rothery Band. Anne-Marie Helder and Jonathan Edwards perform together outside of Panic Room under the name Luna Rossa. In addition to this, Helder has been a member of Mostly Autumn since 2007; Griffiths was also a member of Mostly Autumn between 2009 and 2014.
