The Pan Am / Parapan Am Fields is a field hockey facility built for Toronto for the 2015 Pan American Games. It was completed in 2014, one year before the games are scheduled to start.[1] The stadium is planned for 2,000 seats, all of which will consist of temporary seating for the games,[2] and was built on the existing back campus grass rugby pitch between University College and Hoskins Avenue on the St. George Campus of University of Toronto.
The facility cost $9.5 million, which includes $6.25 million to build and finance the project. "The remainder comprises capital expenditures for equipment, transaction fees, project management and other ancillary costs". Construction began in July 2013.[2]
The facility will also host the 2015 Parapan American Games and will host 5 and 7 a side football during the games.[2]
The facility consists of two Global Class 1 fields. One will be used for practices and warm-ups while the other will be used for competition.[2]
