Pamela Chopra is a Bollywood playback singer. She was the wife of veteran film director Yash Chopra. She has also produced few films and has also been a co-writer to some.

Career

After Chopra married the film director Yash Chopra, she was seen as the playback singer in many of his films from 1976 film Kabhie Kabhie to 2002 film Mujhse Dosti Karoge!. She also produced few films. The 1993 film Aaina was independently produced by her.[1] She also co-wrote the 1997 film Dil To Pagal Hai along with Aditya Chopra, Tanuja Chandra and Yash Chopra.

She appeared in the opening song "Ek Duje Ke Waasate" of the film Dil To Pagal Hai along with her husband. She is a trained Bharat Natyam dancer.[2]

Personal life

Chopra was born as Pamela Singh. She has two little brothers and grew up in a big family. Her father Mohinder Singh was in the Indian Navy and her sister Darshi is Bollywood actress Simi Garewal's mother.[2]

In 1970, Pamela married the film director Yash Chopra. They together have two sons Aditya (b. 1971) and Uday Chopra (b. 1973).[3] Aditya Chopra is a film producer and director. Her daughter-in-law is the actress Rani Mukerji. Uday Chopra is an actor and producer. He produces and appears in Yash Raj Films movies.
