Palaquium rubiginosum is a species of plant in the Sapotaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.
Leaves
terminally crowded, obovate to oval, tapered base, rounded apex, lateral veins obscure, fine orange-red pubescent beneath, thick, leathery.
Trunk
Bark - dark brown; branchlets very stout, leaf scars.
Flowers
whitish, clusters of 2-7 in leaf axils.
Fruits
ovoid to globose, pointed berry.
Ecology
rain forest canopy.
