Palaquium petiolare is a species of plant in the Sapotaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.
Leaves
terminally crowded, oval-oblong, tapered base, short-pointed apex, lateral veins parallel, distant; flush pinkish-red.
Trunk
Bark - smooth, gray; Wood - pale, whitish.
Flowers
greenish pink, clusters of 2-5 in axils of fallen leaves.
Fruits
nearly globose, pointed berry; supported by enlarged woody sepals.
Ecology
rain forest canopy of wet zone.
Uses
Wood - construction, plywood.
