Pakistan Basketball Federation PBF is a national governing body of basketball in Pakistan. The PBF was founded in 1952 for the promotion and development of sport of basketball in the country.[2]

History

Basketball was introduced in the Punjab by the early 1900s, with the Y.M.C.A. leading the front in the promotion of the game. Gordon College, Rawalpindi was one of the first schools in the country which began playing the game in 1906 followed by C.T.I. High School in Sialkot who both have had a long history in training boys to play the game. Forman Christian College, Lahore introduced the game in 1910. The Pakistan Amateur Basketball Federation was formally inaugurated in February 1952 and began functioning in early 1953.
