The Paint the Night parade is an interactive nighttime parade[1][2] at Hong Kong Disneyland that premiered on September 11, 2014. The Disneyland version of the parade will debut on May 22, 2015 as part of the park's 60th anniversary celebration.[2][3]
Hong Kong Disneyland
Paint the Night (Traditional Chinese: 迪士尼光影匯) premiered at Hong Kong Disneyland on October 1, 2014. It's the first time Walt Disney Parks and Resorts created a fully LED parade, and features seven original floats containing over 740,000 individual lights.
The Hong Kong version of the parade uses a newly-arranged version of the Main Street Electrical Parade's theme song, "Baroque Hoedown" alongside a Cantonese arrangement of Owl City's "When Can I See You Again?" from the 2012 Walt Disney Animation Studios film, Wreck-It Ralph.
The interactive "Mickey Mouse Paint Brushes," which guests can purchase in the park, allow guests to interact with the performers by changing the colors of their costumes when the brushes are activated. Wearable merchandise items include the "Mickey Glow Mitt" and "Minnie Glow Bow", which change colors throughout the show[4] through the use of RFID-enabled technology.

Disneyland (California)
The Paint the Night parade will open May 22, 2015 as part of Disneyland's 60th Diamond Celebration,[2][3] in commemoration of Disneyland's 60th anniversary.[5] This version of the parade will utilize over 1.5 million LED lights,[2][3] special effects,[6] and will have more then 80 performers.[3] The California version of the parade was inspired by the Main Street Electrical Parade.[3] It will be Disneyland's first all-LED parade.[7] No end-date for the parade has been scheduled.[2] The parade is approximately 30 minutes long from the beginning of the Parade Route to the end of the Parade Route.[8] On March 25, 2015, Adam Young of Owl City revealed that he has recorded and arranged a new version of "When Can I See You Again?" from Walt Disney Animation Studios' Wreck-It Ralph for the parade.[9]
Units
The units in the Disneyland version will be slightly different and will include new floats. Unlike the Hong Kong version, it will move continuously down the parade route, with no show stops.[10]
The Disneyland version will contain the following parade units:[8]
